Duke Energy could announce swine-waste project deal by June

Duke Energy Corp. (NYSE:DUK) is close to announcing a deal for a large swine-waste power purchase deal in North Carolina.
Angie Maier of the N.C. Pork Council told the state’s Energy Policy Council on Wednesday that the deal was near closing last year. But Duke and the power producer had to renegotiate the agreement after the N.C. General Assembly decided not to extend the state’s 35% renewable energy tax credit in the last session.
“The agreement had been negotiated originally with the tax credit built into the pricing,” she said….
